- and God said, "I did. I sent you."
As the past Knights of Columbus Pro-Life Director for the state of Colorado
and a member of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Knights of Columbus Council
7502, Arthur Maes joined forces with Father Michael G. Peters, pastor of St.
Mary of the Assumption Church in Panama, Iowa in an effort to end the tragedy
of abortion in America. Today, more than 12 million prayer cards have been
distributed by countless individuals and organizations across the country and
around the world. The prayer cards are available in English and in Spanish.
With over 1.5 million abortions a year, 1.5 million plus Catholics need to be
praying asking God to protect the innocent and give women and families the
strength to trust God and not destroy the beautiful gift of life.
How powerful is the prayer? Arthur Maes related the following: "We received
a letter from a gentleman whose daughter was reciting the prayer while a friend
was visiting. Later his daughter told the family that her friend was going to have
an abortion that afternoon, but decided not to because of the prayer."
The story goes that when all seemed lost, a man pleaded with God to send help and to the man's surprise God answered -
"I did. I sent you!"
